Anthony Scholer M.D., FACS, FSSO, is a board certified surgical oncologist who specializes in Hepatobiliary Surgery, and has recently joined Hackensack Meridian Medical Group and Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Prior to joining HMH, Dr. Scholer worked at the University of South Carolina - Greenville, Prisma Health and served in a multitude of roles. During his time there, he served as the Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery in the division of Surgical Oncology, as the Director of the Peritoneal Surface Malignancy and Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy program, was the Surgical Director of the Hepatic Arterial Infusion Program, and served as the Co-Director of Complex Surgical Oncology and Retroperitoneal & Pelvic Malignancy Program.
Dr. Scholer has been a member of many academic committees including the Education and Training Committee of the Americas Hepato-Pancreato Biliary Association, Surgical Council on Research Education Subcommittee (SCORE), Complex Surgical Oncology Fellowship American Board of Surgery Editorial Board, and on the American College of Surgeons Commision on Cancer. He is also an active member of many professional societies including: The American College of Surgeons, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Southwest Surgical Congress, American Medical Association, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Scholer has also authored several research publications, book chapters, and serves as a research advisor. He has presented at multiple national and regional medical conferences. He has earned many accolades throughout his career such as winning the American College of Surgeons Commision on Cancer Research Paper Competition, Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology Gastrointestinal Cancer Symposium Merit Award, The Robert DeGroot Award for Excellence and many others. Dr. Scholer is a hard working, well rounded surgeon who is excited to provide expert care to all of his patients. He will be working alongside Gregory J. Tiesi, M.D., Medical Director of Hepatobiliary Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
Dr. Scholer has a diverse surgical oncology background and treats the following:

- Hepatic arterial infusion for colorectal liver metastases and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
