Kevin Zhao, DO

Kevin Zhao, D.O., is a fellowship trained neurosurgeon who has recently joined Hackensack Meridian Medical Group as Co-Director of Neurosurgery at Riverview Medical Center and Ocean University Medical Center. Dr. Zhao completed his neurosurgery residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and received specialized fellowship training in minimally invasive skull base and cerebrovascular neurosurgery at the University of Arizona Phoenix under the mentorship of renowned surgeon Peter Nakaji M.D.
Dr. Zhao's expertise lies in minimally invasive cranial and spine surgeries, offering advanced treatment options for a wide array of conditions, including brain tumors, hydrocephalus, aneurysms, trigeminal neuralgia, chiari malformation, pituitary tumors, disc herniations, degenerative spine disease, and adjacent level disease. Dr. Zhao ensures that his patients receive the most effective treatment with the least invasive approach.
With office locations affiliated with Riverview Medical Center, Ocean University Medical Center, and Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Dr. Zhao will have seamless access to the latest technology in neurosurgery, as well as a full range of support services. In contrast to traditional neurosurgical procedures, minimally invasive approaches involve smaller incisions and minimal shaving while offering faster recovery, less post-operative discomfort, and better outcomes.
