Roshani Patel, M.D., FACS, is a breast surgical oncologist who is board certified in general surgery and has recently joined Hackensack Meridian Health. She will be serving as the Medical Director for Breast Surgery at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Prior to joining the team, Dr. Patel served as a breast surgical oncologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and an instructor in surgery at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. She also served as the New Hampshire State Chair for the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. 


In addition to providing expert surgical care for patients with breast cancer, Dr. Patel encourages patients and survivors to support their overall health through holistic, lifestyle-focused approaches, including nutrition, mindfulness and exercise. Dr. Patel also has helped underserved populations, completing oncology related work in New Hampshire to help with funds for food and transportation.


Dr. Patel has contributed several publications to medical literature and has delivered national and local presentations on breast cancer treatment. She received the Lane Adams Quality of Life Award from the American Cancer Society in 2019, and has been featured in articles that appeared in U.S. News and World Report. She is also a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

Dr. Huang is very thorough, and very thoughtful in describing treatment options. He carefully considers my symptoms and answered questions and concerns I had about the prospective medications. He made sure I was clear about certain guidelines, such as how long to wait between doses, or between 2 different medications. Dr. Huang has a very pleasant personality and a sense of humor, which is actually helpful to a Dr-patient relationship. When a physician makes a patient comfortable and feel heard, it is very positive. I definitely feel like he cares about his patients, as well as having excellent knowledge that I can feel confident in. Thank you to HMH for hiring a high quality physician to your team!

The medical assistants are very kind, and I really appreciated that they arranged for a translator so I could communicate with the doctor. The doctor is excellent; in less than 24 hours, he reviewed the tests and contacted me to discuss the results. I felt very comfortable with the doctor, and he showed interest in helping me with my case. After just one visit with Dr. Huang, I highly recommend him 100%.
Dr. Huang was very thorough, professional and caring. He referred me to 2 other doctors as well. I was extremely pleased. The only thing was I had to wait over a half hour for the Dr. to come into the room.
