Elizabet Santana Marmon-Halm, Psy.D., (Dr. Santana) is a clinical neuropsychologist at the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Hackensack University Medical Center. She also is an assistant professor of Neurology at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
Specializing in the assessment of neuropsychological disorders and cognitive function associated with a variety of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, Dr. Santana is part of a comprehensive team that offers a spectrum of care for individuals with multiple sclerosis, mild cognitive impairment, dementia (e.g., Alzheimer’s type, vascular, frontotemporal dementia (FTD), etc.), traumatic brain injury, movement disorders, stroke, brain tumor and other medical illnesses that may impact cognition.
She received her Master’s degree in Psychology from Columbia University and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), where her training focused on interdisciplinary care and clinical neuropsychology. She completed her APA-accredited internship at the Department of Veterans Affairs, New Jersey Health Care System and postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Department of Neurology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Santana is sensitive to cross-cultural and cross-linguistic considerations and provides clinical services in English and Spanish. She has gained neuropsychological assessment and intervention experience in a variety of diverse hospital settings, including Mount Sinai, NYU, Columbia Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital and Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. She has also been involved in several studies aimed at identifying and remediating cognitive difficulties in both traumatic brain injury and multiple sclerosis.
