M. Jawad Latif, M.D., FACS, is a thoracic surgeon who is a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region. As a part of The Advanced Lung and Airway Center at JFK University Medical Center, Dr. Latif diagnoses and treats patients with both cancerous and non-cancerous disorders of the chest including lung, esophagus, mediastinum and diaphragm.

Dr. Latif completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with focused training in the surgical management of complex benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus. He then received advanced fellowship training in thoracic surgical oncology and robotic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Latif has previously held leadership roles in thoracic surgery at large health systems in New York and Maine. He will serve as site chief of thoracic surgery and regional chief of esophageal surgery for Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region.

Good afternoon, I thought he was an excellent professional, he answered all my questions very attentively, very carefully, very attentively. I really liked the doctor's attention, excellent, excellent professional.

Dr Bayefsky was professional and knowledgeable. I felt very confident in her ability to help me determine what was happening to me. The nurse who took me into the room and did the initial exam and questions was also really professional and helpful.

Dr Bayefsky was very professional and thorough. She listened to everything I had to say and spent a liberal amount of time with me. She definitely went above and beyond and expressed genuine concern for my condition.
