Reena Tzipora Gottesman, MD

Dr. Reena Gottesman is board-certified in Neurology and  Behavioral Neurology.  She treats adults with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia, vascular dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and other neurobehavioral disorders. 

She sees patients and participates in clinical research on Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions in the Center for Memory Loss and Brain Health and is an assistant professor of Neurology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. 

Dr. Gottesman completed medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and earned her Master’s degree in Epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She completed her neurology residency at Montefiore Medical Center, followed by a behavioral neurology fellowship at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. 

She has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals. Her clinical interests include frontotemporal dementia and supportive and palliative care needs of patients with memory disorders. She is passionate about educating the public on the importance of healthy habits - such as a nutritious diet, regular exercise, good sleep habits, and cognitively and socially stimulating activities — on brain health, early diagnosis, and treatment advances.

Dr. Gottesman is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment, and the International Neuropalliative Care Society, where she serves on the Research Committee.
