Sameer M. Jamal, MD


Sameer Jamal, M.D, is a board certified cardiac electrophysiologist and assistant professor of Medicine at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. Dr. Jamal is also the Associate Program Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program and Director of Electrophysiology at Hackensack Meridian Health at Palisades. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, serves as a reviewer for scientific journals, and has presented at meeting with both national and international participation. He remains involved in research at the Hackensack University Medical Center, and has served as principal investigator of both sponsor and investigator- initiated cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology areas of interest. He also participates in the standard setting process for the American Board of Internal Medicine Clinical Electrophysiology recertification examinations (CMP). Dr. Jamal also enjoys teaching, and is involved in medical education at all levels, and assists in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Dr. Jamal was accepted into a combined, 8-year Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Medicine program, receiving his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He went on to complete internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Washington Hospital Center, also serving as chief cardiology fellow. He then completed a Research and Clinical fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he also served as chief cardiac electrophysiology fellow.
